Privacy Policy

The legal texts are provided in German and English. The German version is legally binding.

1. Overview

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our company. Protecting your personal data matters to us. This policy explains which data is processed when you visit this website and use our contact options, for what purpose and on which legal basis.

We use analytics only with your consent: Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you have agreed in the cookie banner (see sections 7 to 9 for details). This website uses no advertising cookies and no social media plugins.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland) in the Germany West Central (Frankfurt am Main) region. The servers are located in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Microsoft (Microsoft Products and Services Data Protection Addendum).

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing the website securely, quickly and efficiently (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Server log files

When you access the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in server log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • page or file accessed, referrer URL
  • browser type and version, operating system
  • HTTP status code and amount of data transferred

Processing serves to deliver the page, to keep our systems secure (e.g. to fend off attacks) and to analyse errors (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The hosting platform normally deletes log files after no more than 30 days; they are not merged with other data sources.

5. Contact form and appointment request (“initial consultation”)

When you send us an enquiry via the contact form or request an appointment via the “Request an intro call” form, we process the details you enter: name, company, e-mail address, optionally phone number and industry, your message or topic and – for the intro call – your preferred slot.

Technical flow: your data is transmitted to our server encrypted (TLS) and delivered from there by e-mail to our mailbox info@digital-trend-systems.de and to the management; you automatically receive a confirmation copy at the e-mail address you provided – for appointment requests together with a provisional calendar entry (iCalendar). E-mails are sent via the mail server of our provider Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany (processor under Art. 28 GDPR). To prevent automated spam submissions, your IP address is logged server-side in truncated form; the form contains an invisible check field that humans do not fill in.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract / handling your enquiry) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient communication and protection against abuse). Fields marked * are required for processing; all other details are voluntary.

Your enquiry remains with us until it has been fully dealt with and the purpose of storage no longer applies; you may request deletion at any time. Statutory retention obligations (e.g. after a subsequent contract) remain unaffected.

6. Contact by e-mail, phone, WhatsApp and LinkedIn

If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). Our website also links to WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd.) and LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company). These links do not load any provider content when our page is opened; only when you click a link do you leave our website, and the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies.

7. Cookies

This website sets the following cookies:

  • Strictly necessary: the hosting platform Microsoft Azure sets load-balancing cookies (ARRAffinity, ARRAffinitySameSite) which ensure that your requests are routed to the same server during a visit (session cookies). In addition, the cookie klaro stores your decision in the cookie banner for 180 days (section 8). Legal basis: Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (f) or (c) GDPR.
  • Statistics (only with your consent): Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_0YRE76WJCV (lifetime 2 years each) – only after you have consented in the cookie banner (Section 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR; section 9).

Details on all cookies: Cookie notice.

8. Consent management (cookie banner)

When you visit our website, a consent banner (consent management) is displayed. Analytics services are only loaded after you have given your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). Your choice is stored in your browser. You can withdraw or adjust your consent at any time with effect for the future by reopening the cookie settings via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

For consent management we use the self-hosted open-source solution “Klaro!”. No data is transferred to third parties. Your choice is stored in a cookie (“klaro”) on your device for 180 days; this storage is technically necessary for operating the consent management (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7 (1) GDPR).

9. Google Analytics 4

On the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG) this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Nature and purpose of processing: Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that enable an analysis of how the website is used (pages visited, session duration, approximate location at city level, device type, browser, traffic source). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses; they are truncated already at collection. We use this information to statistically evaluate the use of our website and to improve our offering.

Data processing agreement: We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Transfers to third countries: Data may be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the adequacy decision of the EU Commission (Art. 45 GDPR).

Storage period: Data stored at user and event level is deleted after 14 months.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer. Alternatively, you can prevent collection by Google Analytics with the opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.

10. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Recipients of your data are the processors named in sections 3 and 5 (Microsoft Azure, Strato) and, internally, the persons handling your enquiry. If you have consented to web analytics, Google Ireland Ltd. is also a recipient (section 9); in that case data may be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the adequacy decision of the EU Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Beyond this, we do not transfer data to third countries outside the EU/EEA; all other processing takes place in data centres in Germany.

11. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

To exercise your rights, an e-mail to info.null@remove-this.@digital-trend-systems.de is sufficient. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.

12. Data security

This website uses TLS encryption throughout (recognisable by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser) and enforces encrypted connections (HSTS). Data you submit via the forms cannot be read by third parties.

13. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy is dated September 2026. Further development of our website or changed legal requirements may make adjustments necessary; the current version is always available at https://www.digital-trend-systems.de/en/privacy.html.
