Weighing kiosk for transport trolleys in packaging production

In production, offcuts, rejects or semi-finished goods are taken to the scale on transport trolleys. This example – developed for a manufacturer of corrugated board packaging – shows a touch terminal where weighing takes three taps and every weighing is logged properly.

The starting point in this industry

At the floor scale in the hall, weighing happens between two other tasks, often wearing gloves. Trolley tare weights are on a list on the wall, the net weight is calculated in one's head and noted on a slip.

What was needed was a solution that works without training, rules out calculation errors and provides the data so that controlling and ERP can take it over directly.

How it works

  1. Tap the trolleyThe trolley's stored tare is applied automatically.
  2. Weighing runsGross weight shown large in whole kilograms, released only at standstill.
  3. SaveNet weight goes to the log, the terminal returns to the start screen automatically.

Key features

  1. Tap the trolley instead of typingTiles with numbers and tare weights
  2. Live weight in whole kilogramsLarge display, legible from a distance
  3. Save at standstillReleased only once the scale is stable
  4. CSV exportWeighing log for Excel or ERP
  5. 99 predefined trolleysFreely configurable with own tare
  6. Return on inactivityKiosk mode goes back to start

Integration with SAP and other ERP systems

The weighing log is available as CSV with time, trolley, tare, gross and net. The next step is direct posting to SAP or your ERP – for example as a confirmation of scrap or residual quantities to the production order, without the detour via Excel.

Besides SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC, we integrate other ERP systems too – for example Microsoft Dynamics 365, abas, proALPHA, Odoo or weclapp. The interface adapts to your system, not the other way round.
