Typical use cases
- Production confirmation: weigh produced quantities on the order and hand them over as a confirmation – actual weights in the final costing instead of estimates
- Material staging: weigh in input materials per order, with tolerance checks against the bill of materials and batch assignment
- Goods receipt: capture deliveries on the floor scale or platform scale and check the actual quantity against the purchase order
- Warehouse & transfer: determine remaining quantities of coils, containers or bulk goods by weighing instead of by eye
- Shipping: document loading weights for carrier documents directly on the proALPHA document
How the integration works
We take on the scale side completely: reading the devices – from the verified floor scale with a Minebea Intec terminal to the METTLER TOLEDO platform scale in production –, stability and plausibility checks, and buffering when the ERP is temporarily unreachable. Hand-over to proALPHA happens via the system's official integration interfaces or via a staging database or transfer file; we agree the structure and approval with the proALPHA consultant or partner responsible for your system. Your ERP installation remains untouched and release-capable.
Weighing where production happens
On the shop floor, usability decides: gloves, dust, time pressure. That is why we build a reduced interface for the weighing station – scan the order, see the weight, confirm – or let the capture run entirely in the background, for instance at fixed, chained filling stations. Which variant fits, we clarify when surveying your production and warehouse processes on site or remotely.
Frequently asked questions
How is a scale connected to proALPHA?
Our software takes on the complete scale side – reading out, validation, buffering – and hands the values over via proALPHA's official integration interfaces or a staging database agreed with your proALPHA consultant. Weighing data from production and warehouse thus lands automatically on the right document.
Can production confirmations be weighed automatically?
Yes – that is the most frequent case: the operator identifies the production order by scan, weighs input material or finished goods, and the validated quantity is handed over to proALPHA as a confirmation. Tolerance violations are shown immediately instead of only surfacing in the final costing.
Do we need new scales for this?
Usually not: existing industrial scales with a data interface can almost always be reused. If something is missing after all, we advise vendor-independently – including on where a verifiable scale is required.
