Minebea Intec scales: software, connection and integration

Software for Minebea Intec weighing technology (formerly Sartorius Industrial) – from connecting a Combics terminal on a platform scale through to integrating an X3 process controller into recipe batching, MES and SAP. Minebea Intec devices are found in food, chemical and pharmaceutical production, on filling lines, checkweighers and hopper scales. Interfaces, connection and integration

Minebea Intec terminals communicate via RS232/RS485, Ethernet and USB, and the process devices additionally via Profibus DP, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and, on the X3, OPC UA as well; the protocols used are SBI and xBPI. We transfer weight, status, tare and alibi number into batch records, post weighings to ERP or MES, monitor checkweigher statistics and bring several weighing stations together in a single application – without any intervention in the verified weighing equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Our scale is wired to a PLC – does your software clash with that?

No. We coordinate the connection with your automation – whether in parallel with the PLC, through the PLC, or via OPC UA as a shared data layer.

Can you bring fill levels from silo scales into our planning?

Yes – cyclical capture, threshold alarms and hand-over to ERP or dashboards are a typical project.

What does the connection cost?

Can you connect Minebea Intec Combics terminals to SAP?

Yes. Combics terminals deliver weight and status via the serial or network interface. Our software adds order, material and batch and posts the weighing to SAP – via RFC, IDoc or an existing middleware.

We have a Minebea Intec checkweigher in the line – can we get the statistics into our MES?

Yes. Checkweighers such as the Flexus or Essentus output individual weights and statistics via Ethernet. We transfer them into the MES or a dashboard, evaluate mean value, spread and rejects per batch and thereby also meet the requirements of the prepackaging regulations.
