Avery Weigh-Tronix scales: software, connection and integration

Software for Avery Weigh-Tronix – from connecting a ZM301 indicator on a platform scale through to integrating a BridgeMont weighbridge with ZM510 terminal into weighing tickets, SAP or Dynamics. Avery Weigh-Tronix devices are found in agriculture, recycling, logistics and industry; the terminals deliver precise data that is often only printed out. We deliver the software that brings it into your systems.

What we do for Avery Weigh-Tronix users

  • Read out weighing terminals and post weights automatically to the ERP or warehouse system
  • Integrate forklift scales into goods-receipt and loading processes – weighing while moving
  • Equip vehicle scales with weighing-ticket creation and a billing connection
  • Log and analyse weighing results centrally
  • Integrate Avery Weigh-Tronix devices into heterogeneous scale fleets

Supported devices and series

Avery Weigh-Tronix devices we regularly connect:

  • ZM indicators ZM301, ZM303, ZM405, ZM510 and ZM605: from a simple display to the programmable terminal with applications
  • E1005 / E1010 / 1310: proven indicators on existing scales that are to remain in use
  • Weighbridges BridgeMont and Steelbridge with Weigh Bar load cells: inbound/outbound weighing and self-service
  • Floor, pallet and hopper scales as well as counting and checkweighing scales with Avery Weigh-Tronix electronics

Interfaces, connection and integration

ZM indicators offer RS232 and RS485 and, depending on the model, Ethernet TCP/IP, USB and Wi-Fi as well as optional fieldbus cards; the ZM terminals can also be programmed on the device itself, so that we can adapt the output formats to our software. We transfer weight, status and alibi number into the weighing ticket, ERP, invoicing or the waste disposal record, control tare from the software and implement self-service procedures at the weighbridge – including number plate recognition, barrier and traffic light if required.

Frequently asked questions

Can Avery Weigh-Tronix terminals of the ZM series be connected to our ERP?

Yes. ZM-series terminals offer serial or network interfaces depending on their configuration. We provide the software that transfers weighing data from the terminal automatically into your ERP, warehouse or dispatch system – tailored to your workflows.

Can the weighing data from our forklift scales be captured automatically?

Yes. Forklift scales weigh right where the goods are being moved anyway – we make sure the values don't end at the display unit but flow via radio or network link into your warehouse and dispatch processes.

Our installation went in years ago – is a connection still worth it?

Usually yes. As long as the terminal has a usable interface, the software connection is almost always considerably cheaper than replacing the weighing equipment – and extends the useful life of the installation.

Can you connect an Avery Weigh-Tronix weighbridge with a ZM terminal to our invoicing?

Yes. The ZM terminal delivers first and second weighing with alibi number; our software generates the weighing ticket, assigns customer, vehicle and material and hands the weighing over to ERP, invoicing or the waste disposal record. Find out more on our page on weighbridge software.

Our indicators are older E1010 models – is connecting them still worthwhile?

Usually yes. The E series delivers the weight serially in a stable format that we can read out without difficulty. Connecting them is considerably cheaper than replacing the terminals and can be transferred to new devices later on.
