What we do for CAS users
- Transfer weights from CAS platform and floor scales automatically into inventory management, ERP or Excel
- Integrate CAS counting and checkweighing scales into order picking, goods receipt and prepackaging checks
- Synchronise CAS retail and price-computing scales with article master data, POS and shop system
- Bring several CAS scales and devices from other manufacturers together in a single application
- Keep using existing CAS devices instead of replacing them – connecting them is usually cheaper than buying new
Supported devices and series
CAS devices we regularly connect:
- Indicators CI-200, CI-201A, CI-600 and NT series: platform, floor and pallet scales, setpoint outputs, counting and checkweighing functions
- Platform and bench scales DB-II, ED, PB and HD: goods receipt, dispatch and production
- Counting and checkweighing scales EC, EC-II, ER-Plus and ED-H: piece counts and tolerance checking
- Retail and price-computing scales CL series (CL5000, CL5500), ER-JR and PR: labels, prices and sales data
- Crane and hanging scales Caston as well as CAS load cells on special-purpose scales
Interfaces, connection and integration
CAS indicators and scales come with RS232 as standard and, depending on the model, RS485, USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi; retail scales exchange article and sales data via Ethernet or file interfaces. We read the weight in CAS streaming or polling format, control tare and zeroing from the software, transfer values together with article, order or package into inventory management, ERP, POS or Excel, and synchronise article master data to the retail scale and labeller.
Frequently asked questions
Can you connect a CAS CI-200 or CI-600 indicator to our ERP or inventory management system?
Yes. The indicators deliver weight and status via RS232 or Ethernet. Our software adds the order, article or batch and posts the weighing to SAP, Dynamics, JTL, Sage or your custom system.
We use CAS retail scales at the point of sale – can the article master data be transferred automatically from our inventory management system?
Yes. We transfer articles, prices and label data from your inventory management or shop system to the CL scales and retrieve sales and weighing data in return – on a schedule or in real time.
Our CAS scale only has a serial interface – is that enough for a connection?
Yes. RS232 is sufficient for weight polling, tare and zeroing. For network operation we use a serial-to-Ethernet converter or read the scale directly at the workstation PC.
Can you use CAS counting scales for our stocktaking and order picking?
Yes. The counting scale delivers piece count and weight; our software assigns them to the article and storage location, checks them against the target and writes the result straight into the stocktaking list, picking order or inventory management system.
Does the verification of our CAS scale remain valid?
Yes. We only access the interface in read-only mode and change neither the firmware nor the adjustment. For verified devices we take over the alibi number, provided the device keeps an alibi memory.
