Software for Schenck Process weighing technology – from connecting a MULTIBELT belt scale to the shift report through to integrating weighfeeders and INTECONT controllers into control system, MES and SAP. Schenck Process installations weigh bulk materials continuously in cement, mining, chemicals, agriculture and energy; the quantities are shown on the controller but rarely posted automatically. Continuous weighing means continuous data

A dosing or belt scale doesn't deliver a single weighing value but a running material stream: current throughput, totalised quantities, target/actual dosing curves. In practice these values are often only read off occasionally – a counter reading at the end of the shift, a note in the shift book. Our software instead records the process data continuously and makes it analysable: how much material ran over which scale? How stable was the dosing? Where do consumptions deviate? Continuous weighing thus becomes a reliable quantity and consumption balance.

Interfaces, connection and integration

INTECONT and DISOCONT controllers communicate via Profibus DP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP or serially (RS232/RS485), usually through the existing PLC. We read throughput, totals, setpoints and fault messages cyclically, transfer them into the control system, shift report, MES or ERP, build batch and daily quantities and provide reports on consumption and plant availability. Legal-for-trade belt scale totals we transfer together with the associated counter readings so that invoicing and evidence add up.

Frequently asked questions

Can you capture the throughput data of our belt scale automatically?

Yes. Belt scales and their controllers provide values such as throughput and totalised conveyed quantities. We read this data via the existing interfaces, historise it in a database and make it available for analyses, shift reports or hand-over to your ERP.

Does your software interfere with the dosing control?

No. Control remains the job of the existing dosing controller – a DISOCONT, for instance. Our software reads along with the process and consumption data, documents it and makes it analysable, without influencing the running process.

Our plant has grown over the years – old and new controllers side by side. Does that work?

Yes. Especially in plants with dosing technology that has grown over the years, that is the normal case. We connect the individual controllers via whichever interfaces they offer and bring the data together in one shared analysis.

Can you post the totals from our Schenck belt scales to the ERP automatically?

Yes. Via Modbus or fieldbus we read the totalisers and throughput of the INTECONT controllers, build daily, shift or order quantities and post them to the ERP as production or consumption quantities – SAP, Dynamics or your custom system.

We have weighfeeders with DISOCONT – can we get recipe and batch data into our MES?

Yes. DISOCONT delivers setpoints, actual values and fault messages via fieldbus. We assign them to the current batch, log deviations and make the data available to the MES or quality assurance.
